1. Scope of these terms

These Terms apply to your access to and use of the WhatFood mobile app and related app services. WhatFood provides an app shell that helps you discover, open and return to participating restaurants and their supported web experiences.

Each restaurant available through the app is an independent business. Restaurant-specific products, menus, prices, opening times, delivery areas, booking availability, payment rules, cancellation rights and refund handling are controlled by that restaurant.

2. Acceptance of the terms

By downloading, accessing or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should stop using the app.

3. WhatFood app role and restaurant role

3.1 WhatFood app role

WhatFood operates the app-level experience, including startup routing, restaurant list management, QR add flows, optional search integrations and restaurant web session entry points.

3.2 Restaurant role

Restaurants remain responsible for the content and operation of their own websites, menus, order journeys, reservation flows, customer support, legal notices and merchant-side service terms.

4. Using the app

  • You must use the app lawfully and only for legitimate personal use.
  • You must not misuse the app, attempt unauthorised access or interfere with service operation.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit on a restaurant site.
  • You are responsible for keeping your own device secure.

5. Restaurant orders, bookings and disputes

When you place an order, request delivery, make a reservation or otherwise transact through a restaurant website opened from the app, that activity is primarily governed by the restaurant’s own terms, policies and operational decisions.

Questions about menu items, allergens, stock, opening times, order acceptance, delivery, cancellation, refund or reservation fulfilment should be directed to the relevant restaurant unless the issue is specifically about the WhatFood app itself.

Where a restaurant publishes its own terms, conditions, delivery policy, booking policy, refund policy or other merchant-side rules, those documents apply separately and govern the relevant restaurant transaction or service.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, restrict or remove parts of the app from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, application maintenance or service quality needs.

We do not guarantee that every restaurant, feature or linked web flow will always be available on every device or in every region.

7. Third-party content and links

The app may open restaurant websites, external legal pages, map links, telephone links and other third-party resources. Those destinations are operated by their respective owners and may have separate terms and privacy policies.

8. Intellectual property

The WhatFood name, app design, WhatFood branding and app-level content are owned by or licensed to WhatFood, except where third-party rights or restaurant branding apply.

Restaurant names, logos, menus and other restaurant content remain the property or responsibility of the relevant restaurant or rights holder.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhatFood is not responsible for restaurant-side menu accuracy, order preparation, delivery performance, reservation fulfilment, payment processing operated by a restaurant or merchant-side customer support outcomes.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

10. Privacy

Your use of the app is also subject to the WhatFood Privacy Policy. Restaurant-specific privacy policies may apply separately when you use a restaurant’s own site or checkout.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version published on this page applies to ongoing use of the app from the date shown above.

Restaurant-specific terms and conditions may apply in addition to these app terms. Where a restaurant publishes its own terms, conditions or merchant-side policies, those documents govern the relevant order, reservation, delivery, refund or other restaurant-operated service.
